Description

G.Tsulukidze Mining Institute (TMI), formerly known as the Institute of Mining Mechanics of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, was founded in 1957. In 2006 the Institute has got status of a legal entity of public law. Director of the Institute is Doctor Nikoloz Chikhradze.

The regular staff of the Institute consists of 115 employees, including academic staff of 32 (6 chief research fellows, 7 senior research fellows and 15 research fellows). In Scientific Departments 35 young specialists under the age of 9 (4 research fellows, 3 engineers and 1 technicians) are employed, whose future plans include further improvement of scientific skills (they are 3 doctoral students, 2 doctors and 4 masters).

The academic staff of the Institute includes one correspondent-member of The Georgian National Academy of Sciences and 31 doctors or research fellows of equivalent academic degree.
